THOMAS ZUBER

Conducting Fellow

 

Thomas Zuber is a conductor and composer based in Dallas, TX. Thomas received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he took conducting lessons with Dr. Jonathan Govias and now studies conducting with Dr. Paul Phillips at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

Thomas has studied and conducted a variety of works from orchestral masterworks to chamber ensemble pieces and has worked with world class soloists like Liudmila Georgievskaya and Chad Hoopes. In the last year, Thomas has conducted works by Schubert, Weber, Vaughan Williams, Bloch, and Vivaldi with plans to expand his repertoire further once finishing his degree at SMU.

As a composer, Thomas has studied with the likes of John Allemeier, Jorge Variego, and Lane Harder and has explored ensembles from large orchestras to string quintets to even solo harp, with explorations in stylistic juxtaposition being his main goal as a composer.

Thomas will be graduating from SMU in May 2021 and will continue to broaden his horizons as a conductor and composer with many projects coming later this year.
